Well, the week days are over....

.....but a busy weekend is still to be dealt with. Tomorrow is practice and a scrimmage for the girls basketball team. Elder will just be practicing. I will go in around 11:00 and help with serving the girls lunch and then stay for the scrimmage with a not so-local-team. At least the evening is free! Maybe rent a movie to watch. I will see lots of knitting time while waiting for the scrimmage and even maybe through the scrimmage. Then Sunday is church in the morning, race to watch in the afternoon, Grilled Potato Salad and Apple Crisp to make, and then Golf banquet to decorate and attend in the early evening.

As to the knitting, had a hilarious time at Panera last night. Definitely had some subjects that were adult ears only. Good thing we sit in a corner, away from most of the patrons. I was able to finally work on the 2nd Wavy hat. I don't care for the measly flower that the pattern has, even though it looks nothing like the one in the photo (don't you hate when designers do that to you?).  Anywho, I went to my beloved Nicky Epstein felting book and couldn't find anything quite like what the pattern shows, so I improvised. The one I am doing has multiple layers, I am doing mine in 2 layers of pink and one of yellow. It uses i-cords to shape petal loops. Wish I could find a photo, and I am too lazy to go pull out the camera and cord.

I just love the comparison of the unfelted and the felted state of the same object. I finally was able to give the pink hat to the recipient's Aunt last night. We tried to give it to a young man who works at Panera, he was looking for something handknit from one of us. Now to get that last icord done, shape that flower and felt that baby!

What else has been going on? Not much I guess. But got lots coming up, may have to have my calendar permanently attached to my hip to keep track of everything. I honestly don't know how people who work full time do it. I fear the day I have to see what it's like! Hubster says that day will come when Elder gets ready to go to college. So the count down is 3 years and coming too soon. Now to sit with my guy and ignore NCIS, since I have seen or heard this episode a million times! I'll just knit and get that flower done.
