Recipe Reviews

In my quest to make some new and interesting dinners for the fam I have consulted my Kraft food&family magazines. I recently tried these 2 pork dishes.

One-Pan Roast Pork and Parmesan Fries: This dish was not as flavorful as I would have liked. You place the potatoes on the baking sheet and start them. They have a coating of parm cheese, egg and garlic. Nice flavors. The pork used Balsamic Vinaigrette, garlic and honey. You don't use the Vin and honey until the last part. By the time it was all ready, the potatoes got burnt and the flavor just didn't take hold. The pork was juicy and would have benefited from just a bit more flavor.

We used the leftover pork for the next evenings

Easy Chinese Stir Fry: This dish was much more flavorful. The sauce was a mix of Balsamic Vinaigrette and Hoisin Sauce. I forgot to get onion, so we used carrots, and red, green and yellow peppers. I served it over Linguine noddles. Much better flavor than the roasted recipe. This will be used again when I need a quick and easy recipe. Hopefully I can find a good roast pork recipe that we can use the leftovers from again. Just need to watch the flavors. Can't imagine using Italian seasonings on a roast and then using the leftovers for Oriental cooking.

Stayed tuned for the Salisbury Steak review next week. That's on tap for Monday. Then it's Chicken Kabobs, Lasagna, and Chicken Stir Fry.
