Cable Pattern
*K2(3), p1, CF4, p1*
Directions: Left Mitten
Cast on 32 (36) sts, join into the round making sure to not twist the sts. Place BOR ( beginning of round) marker after the 3rd st
Round 1: *K2(3), p1, k4, p1*, repeat 4 times.
Round 2-5: Repeat Round 1.
Round 6: Cable Pattern round
Repeat these 6 rounds 2 more times.
Next round: K2(3), p1, k4, p1, k to last 2 sts from end of round, PM (place marker), M1, PM. This last marker will now be your BOR. Remove the 1st marker you placed as you knit past it next.
Thumb Gusset
Round 1: K 5(6), p1, k4, p1, k to end of round.
Round 2: K 5(6), p1, k1, p1 k to 1st marker, SM (slip marker), M1, k1, M1, SM.
Round 3 & 4: Repeat Round 1
Round 5: K 5(6), p1, CF4, pl, knit to 1st marker, SM, M1, k3, M1, SM.
Round 6: Repeat Round 1
Repeat these 6 rounds, increasing in the gusset, until you k 11(13) sts between the markers.
Next Round: K16(18), PM, k to next marker, remove 1st marker and move Thumb Gusset sts to waste yarn.
Round 2 –4: Repeat Round 1
Round 5: Cable Pattern Round
Round 6: Repeat Round 1.
Repeat these 6 rounds until your length is halfway between the pinkie and index fingers.
Decrease Rounds:
Round 1: *K2tog, k to 2 sts before marker, SSK*
Repeat this round until 6 sts remain on front and back. Cut tail to 12” and Kitchener closed. Weave in ends.
Thumb:
Place sts on 3 dpns. Join yarn and knit 11(13) sts. Over the gap pick up and knit 2 sts. 13(15) sts.
Knit 9(11) rounds. Next Round: *K2tog* to last st, k1. Round 2: *K2tog* to end. Cut yarn and weave through live sts. Weave in ends.

Right Mitten: You will increase for the Thumb Gusset on the opposite side of mitten. The gusset will grow to the left of the cable instead of on the right side.
