Denim DK Hat

Using scraps and odds and ends of DK weight yarns I quickly knit this hat up. You will need about 2 ozs of a combination of yarns. I tied the ends together and then grabbed 2 strands and wound them together in a ball. You can do the same or just wind 2 balls individually and then strand them together as you knit.
Materials: 2 ozs of DK weight odds and ends, US 8 circular needle, 16" length, US 8 dpns.
Gauge: 4 sts and 5 rows = 1"
Measurements: Circumference - 18" unstretched, 20" stretched. Depth from Roll Brim - 7" unstretched, 8 1/2" stretched.
Directions: Cast on 60 sts and join, place marker at beginning of round. Knit in the round for 5 1/2". Next row: *K8, k2tog*, repeat 5 more times. Knit 1 row even. Continue knitting these 2 rounds with 1 less st in between the decreases on the dec rows. When you have decreased to 6 sts you will be done. Cut yarn and slip through the last 6 sts and secure ends. Embellish as you want.
