I got smart and have joined KALs that cover the same items. More Bang for the Buck? So the first item that falls under more than one KAL is Markblomst. This is the left front/back at shoudler. All knit up and waiting for the right front/back shoulders to be done. And I haven't picked it up since. So for March the Stranded in Color project has been stranded. And the UFO project has been at the same point. Casue they are the same project. The Craft Challenge project was to NOT knit anymore baby things. So it's a bust for that KAL too. Maybe one of these days I will successfully compete in a KAL. But actually all is not lost for the UFO and Craft ones.
My other projects in the UFO KAL for March are Celtic Dreams and the Fair Isle mittens. Hmmm, haven't picked up Celtic in awhile and tried to start the 2nd mitt but haven't done so yet. Any time I spare for knitting has gone to the Moebius. I am at 8" out of the 12" I need to reach before I do the edging. Seems so slow going, but it actually is getting done. I took it in the car Friday while driving to my niece's Jr High's production of "High School Musical". They did a great job. Then I took it Sat night to our Middle School's production of "Fiddler On the Roof" (another wonderful job) and was able to knit during the entire show, because the light from the stage was very good. Friday night's production used real teachers for the parts of the teachers. What a hoot. You could tell the students loved having their teachers involved.
OK, another project for Craft Challenge was Celtic Dreams. Again, haven't picked it up lately, but I am longing for it. In fact I haven't picked it up since I did the Aran Knitting Tutorial! Oh well, maybe today, since I will be home with Little Bit (Younger). The head colds have finally taken their toll. Mine cleared up quickly, thankfully, but her's has lingered. She is all stubbed up in her nobe and she has a heavy head. So no work for me today. But lots of time to work with my yarns! Just need to keep myself from starting something new.
Which has really been tugging at me. I have some ideas running rampant in my head and need to ignore them. Ideas like: Elektra from Twisted Sisters in Cladia Handpaint, which is heading it's way to the shop, and Zara from Tahki. Or a Kimono Vest in the same yarns. Or maybe an Aran sweater with the yarn I bought from a Mission Falls Studio Yarn Sale eons ago! I am thinking a Must Have or Am Kamin. Just need to do the math. My gauge might be too large for Am Kamin, but then that means less calculating to upsize it. Now, are any of these items on my UFO list? No, none of them are currently started. Are they are the radar screen for possible knitting in 2007? Not really, the vest and Must Have are completely new considerations. The Am Kamin and Elektra were thoughts, but I had no yarn purchased for them. Although if I used the Studio yarn I would be using stash. Justifications aren't going to help me ignore starting a new project!!
Well, time to start something. Laundry comes to mind. Or start a nap, a book, a movie. Anything but a new knit!
Blessings: My man's in the points lead!!! But will he run a full schedule this year??? links: digg this del.icio.us technorati reddit
