Because, this IS a knitting blog after all. I have been working on the Lace Fichu and the latest baby sweater. The Wool Cotton of the baby sweater is taking a tool on my fingers. The Alpaca Lace weight is doing a number on my left hand. Left hand? Ye

I felt better before taking the medicine!

Over the weekend I developed a very sore throat. Didn't think it was Strep, but went to the Dr just to see what it was. He put me on a Z-pack and I started it Monday. Today I am fighting the sinus break-up of 2009. Before the meds I only had to c

It's really very sad

My admiration for the site called Ravelry has taken a huge downward spiral. And it's for the part that has nothing to do with knitting/crafting. What started out as a place to come together over all things knitterly, has become a battleground. I&

Not much

The weekend was not busy at all, and a good thing too. I have a serious cold or possible infection. My throat has been sore for the last 4 days and I am on my way to the Dr to see if it's Strep or just a really bad cold. I really don't have o

Isn't this just the cutest!!! This is the RIS (his initials) Sweater for my cousin's new baby. The pattern is from a Dale Norway baby book. I love their patterns! I want to make another of these, but there will be mods. I hate the way you hol

One of our favorite commercials to recite. And who can forget, "Thank you Easter Bunnie, bok, bok!" Although, who knew bunnies bokked? And what does she like? Her Lisa's Surprise Shawl, aka Carol's Clever Shawl. Can't you tell?&

It was quick, but it could have been quicker

Going out of town always messes up the knitting mojo. I take it with me, but when the laptop comes too, well, the rest sometimes takes a back seat. So, I took the baby sweater up there, intending to redo the button bands. I had started sewing down th

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Here's a gift for you!!   OK, so actually those are Hubster's boxers. But you can have a Chocolate Caramel!

What She Said

Thursday, 12 February 2009 10:48 P GMT-06
Just, wow! How well spoken she is. My first thought after seeing this, she needs to go into Law. And now for the totally inane. Why do dogs lay their heads upon the chair/couch cushion and give you those puppy dog eyes when you are e

What a long day

Wednesday, 11 February 2009 11:43 P GMT-06
Started by a long night. But the day was full of fun, friends and family, so it was a stellar day. It started out with a low, the closing of a favored group on Ravelry due to outside intervention and trouble making. Contrary to what the PTB say, if t

A Stimulus I can get behind

Tuesday, 10 February 2009 2:45 P GMT-06
Too bad the average Democrat in Washington doesn't have the balls to go against the machine, or maybe they don't have the smarts to know what a stimulus really means. Maybe I should move to Idaho? Applause for Rep Walt Minnick, Dem of ID, and

3 skeins knit up into Lisa's gift. Won't say how many more to go, cause I don't want to give anything away. The project is very fun to knit. I am scheming and wondering and figuring just which stash yarn to use, and what modifications wil

MIL has now been through a blood transfusion. Likely due to the amount of blood they keep drawing! Her Hemoglobin was down, so blood was needed. The Dr has said she is just not going to get well anytime soon, and to just be patient. It's hard tho

Pup and MIL update

Thursday, 5 February 2009 10:08 P GMT-06
Pup is good, just sleepy and a lot bit calmer from the after effects. I am sure he will be his bouncy self later. Just need to keep him as calm as possible for the moment. MIL is not doing good. She had a Cat Scan today to see why things aren

Just a little snip

That's going to cost a lot of money! The pup goes for surgery today. He's not broken, but he's getting fixed. Poor guy. He isn't going to know what hit him! He will likely be all happy to go see the Vet, he loves the Vet's assista

Still need prayers

My MIL is not getting any better. In fact, she is now getting worse. They have imposed a mask and glove rule for anyone entering her ICU room. I was headed up there today when Hubster called to tell me to go home. I have a cold of some sort and do no
