Hat's Off

Well, actually, on and off. Finished the hat for Elder. She likes it, it fits, I am done! And good thing too. I was { } close to running out of handspun from the small skein I was using. I so did not want to wind and use the larger skein. Here's the back. Elder approves, as you can see. It won't likely match her coat closely, but well enough. The addition of the Kitten Mohair lightened up the brown of the handspun. I wasn't sure she would go for the finished product, thought it might be too itchy. I guess not.
She had her first eighth grade basketball game today. She only got to play about 1 minute. Hopefully that will change as time goes by. It's hard to see someone who has such passion to play, not get very much time. The bright side is, she will get tons of exercise and drill time, 3 days a week at practice. That will only help her in high school. One of her friends is on the dance team and she is the best out there. You can tell she loves to dance. Now Younger wants to dance when she gets to Middle School.
Still trying to get used to the dog's haircut. It's hard! He is just not my puppy. Oh, he is on the inside, just not on the outside. And man is he getting antsy. We have been in and out a lot lately, I think he isn't happy with us. Poor thing.
OK, time to close for the moment. Tomorrow we will knit and lunch. I will work on the baby sweater. I was knitting on the sleeves during the game, but didn't have the pattern. So I had no idea how many times I was supposed to do 5 row decreases until I switched to 6 row repeats. Maybe I should check that now that I am home. I really only have a few nights of work to do on it. Just need to knuckle down. But knuckling down is just not something I want to do right now. I would rather be frivolous and start something new! But I will finish baby's sweater and the Fiber Trends booties and thenon to something new back to Suzie's Lady Eleanor. In closing I wish you a Good Wednesday and a Happy Almost Halfway Through January! Can't believe it's the 14th already!
