This headband is not only furry and soft, it's so cozy. Laugh in the face of winter while wearing this Doubly Divine Headband.

Materials:
1 Skein Paton's Divine (76% Acrylic - 10.5% Wool - 10.5% Mohair - 2.5% Polyester, 142 yd/129 m) Color # 06117 Denim Storm
1 Skein Paton's Shetland Chunky (75% Acrylic - 25% Wool, 148 yd/136 m) Color # 03108 Medium Blue
Size 11US needles

Note: Since each head is different in size, you will need to measure your head to get the best fit. This headband is meant to lay under your hair at the back of your neck. To determine the length you need, measure your head with a length of string or a tape measure. Wrap the string/measuring tape around your head in the same way you would tie on a scarf or wear a headband. This is the Measured Length. In order to keep the headband taut on your head you will want to subtract about 2" from that length, this will be the Desired Length.

Abbreviations:
s1wyif: Slip 1 with yarn in front. You will bring the yarn to the front and then slip the next st. Then take the yarn to the back for the next step.
inc1: Increase 1. There are different ways to increase a stitch, however, the method used in this headband was - k into the front and back of next st.
k2tog: knit 2 together. Knit 2 sts together by entering the 2nd st from the left needle tip, and then the first st on the left needle before knitting them together.

Instructions:
With 1 strand of each yarn and size 11US needles, cast on 5 sts.
Row 1: K1, *P1, K1*
Row 2: P1, *K1, P1*
Repeat these 2 rows 2 more times.

1st Increase row: K1, *m1, k1* (9 sts)
2nd Increase row: K3, *m1, k2* (12 sts)

Double Knit Pattern
Row 1: K2, *s1wyif, k1* ending with s1wyif, k3.
Repeat this row until your headband measures 2" less than the Desired Length.

Decrease row 1: K2, *k2tog, k2* (9 sts)
Decrease row 2: K1, *k2tog* (5 sts)

Next Row: K1, *p1, k1*
Row 2: P1, *k1, p1*

Repeat these 2 rows 2 more times.

Optional endings
Ending 1: You can end the headband by binding off all sts, cut yarn leaving a 12" long tail. Seaming the ends together at the back neck. Weave in all ends.
Ending 2: You can bind off and seam the ends as you go. Bring the two ends together with wrong sides facing out, similar to a three needle bind off. Use your left needle tip to pick up the first st of the CAST ON edge. This st will be on the needle in front of your 1st live st. Knit these 2 sts together. Then pick up the next st of the CAST ON edge and repeat the previous step. Bind off as you go along.
